don't ask i won't tell

don't ask me how a thought of moving to nyc becomes vegas... tasha don't get mad at me.. it hasn't happened yet..

But if there are any black folks in vegas reading this holla at me... :P

so kids.. what have you learned about democracy, weather systems and dumbasses these past few weeks kids???

i like how churchs are pulling out full scale.. I attend St. Pauls Baptist Church in VA.. we are doing a full onslaught to help the efforts.. but many things come to mind..
NOTE: for those who want to give and have been turned away by the red cross i gotta lot of angry peeps check this site out : http://www.nvoad.org/

-did we really expect the gov'ment to help us? really?!?!?!
-do you really expect folks who really had no hand in building america to do anything to save it???
-since things like welfare and taxes have balanced each other out.. as in less welfare and more taxes.. did you really expect the people who now have all your money to come running to give it back to you?
-why are black folks so mad cuz no one is helping them?
-what did you expect?
-why do people complain so much???

interesting factoids... being the poetry chick i be.. someone brought up to me at the weekly open mic on tuesday.. that..
A) the most severe hurricanes originate off the coast of africa
B) the hardest hit areas in America by hurricaes were some of the largest slave trade ports . ie : richmond/ N.O
C) many hurricanes follow the slave trade route
D) *not my idea but* could this be the spirits getting their retribution???

hell i don't believe in an eye for an eye.. but karma is crazy...
and for those who think this might be farfetched.. i did some research..

http://www.hurricaneville.com/origins.html

Hurricanes can form almost anywhere in the Tropical Atlantic Basin from the West Coast of Africa near the Cape Verde Islands, to the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea. There are several prime areas where development can occur depending on the time of year, and whether or not the necessary environment conditions are in place. Here are the most common places for hurricanes to develop in the Atlantic Basin.

  • Gulf Of Mexico--This is a very favorable region for hurricane development since water temperatures range from 85 to 90 degrees during the course of the hurricane season.

  • Western Caribbean--While the Eastern and Central Caribbean are usually not favorable areas for development since upper level winds are usually hostile, the Western Caribbean is more favorable since these same winds lessen.

  • Cape Verde Islands--This is probably the most common area for the development of many of the classic and powerful hurricanes. This region usually doesn't become favorable for development until August when water temperatures become warm enough to support tropical formation.
Note: These areas are the most common places for hurricane development, but they can occur elsewhere in the Atlantic Basin including the Central and Eastern Caribbean
all im saying is... i did my research.. :P
but don't take my word for it (don't you hear that cheesy reading rainbow music when you see that ?) you can do your own google search : hurricanes+origins+africa
